Course Description
When parents engage in serve and return conversations with their children, listening and spoken language learning opportunities are quantifiably and qualitatively rich and the architecture of the brain undergoes astonishing growth and change. Learn the science and art of the strategies and conditions that parents can use and/or manipulate so that all meaningful conversations have a starring role in expanding their children's listening and spoken language learning skills...

Note: This Course is $208.00 USD which is approximately $275.00 CAD depending on exchange rate.

(con't) no matter the time of day (eyes open, conversation is on), the place (the world is the oyster to talk about), or what (worms are cool conversation starters).Ms. Zombek will explain what it will take to promote development of conversations that are heard, understood and shared by explaining and demonstrating the role that the intervention professionals plays in helping parents learn to create optimal conditions that set the child up for conversational (and spoken language) success!

Learner Outcomes:

At the end of the course, the learner will be able to:

  1. Identify the role that adults/parents play in helping their children become conversationally competent.
  2. Define parent responsiveness and its role in helping children develop spoken language (serve and return).
  3. Describe ways that the therapist can identify signs of true comprehension in very young children who are developing listening and spoken language skills.
